Christin Veasley
Cofounder and Director, Chronic Pain Research Alliance
Christin Veasley is the cofounder and director of the Chronic Pain Research Alliance, the country's only collaborative advocacy effort focused on advancing a strategic research, knowledge translation, and biopharmaceutical industry effort on coexisting chronic pain disorders. She has lived with life-altering chronic pain since a few years after a near-fatal accident in her teens. As one of millions of Americans living with debilitating chronic pain, she knows firsthand how critical it is for organizations to partner—not only to expedite scientific discoveries, but also to translate those discoveries into meaningful clinical change for the affected. She has dedicated her life to advocating for improving and accelerating rigorous multidisciplinary pain research and educational initiatives.
Her childhood health experiences led her to obtain a science degree, conduct neuroscience research at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and advocate for pain research. She has served on numerous federal and private initiatives, collaborative alliances and public-private partnerships, including the Department of Health and Human Services Interagency Pain Research Coordinating Committee, the National Pain Strategy Oversight Panel, the Healthy People 2020 Chronic Pain Research Work Group, and the Federal Pain Research Strategy Steering Committee.
